SIX FEET UNDER Frontman Checks In (Again) From Recording Studio
April 9, 2003SIX FEET UNDER frontman Chris Barnes has posted yet another studio report via the group's official web site.
It reads as follows:
"Hello again, you sick bastards!! This is week number two here at Morrisound Recording in Tampa, Florida, and we're havin' a kick-ass time layin' down these new songs!! We finished up the drum tracks last Friday. Everything went killer — special thanx to [former OBITUARY and current ANDREW W.K. drummer] Donald Tardy for loaning us his killer sounding vintage Yamaha drums and special thanx to Rich (I forgot your last name — sorry!) for tuning and all your help.
"Terry and Steve started tracking bass and guitar last Saturday. We were supposed to get a new bass rig for Terry, but that kinda was delayed a little, so we laid down some tracks with his old set up 'till we at least got his new bass head. Both bass sounds are brutal and we should have some real good tones to work with during the mix. I think Terry will be finishing up his tracks today. Steve has truly amazed me this time around, the guy is fucking shredding. He has laid down four tracks of rhythm guitar on 11 songs — that's right, 11 new songs! — in 3 days, and he should be done with his leads tomorrow (April 9),two days ahead of schedule!! Steve got a brand new Mesa Boogie stack and I love the way these guitar tracks sound played through that rig — hellish! This is gonna be an awesome CD to mix because I really feel like we've got some exceptional tones outta this studio.
"Next week I'll be goin' down to the Hit Factory — where we recorded 'Maximum Violence', 'Graveyard Classics' and 'True Carnage' — to lay down the vocals to this motherfucker. I'll tell you what — I'm fuckin' psyched!!"
